VIDEO – WOODTURNING: MONSTER YEW BOWL
Easily the smelliest, most out of balance piece of wood I have turned to date, but ended up being absolutely gorgeous! Final dimensions of the bowl were 18″x6″, twice turned bowl. I was given the yew wood from a 700 year old pacific yew tree taken down locally. The whole tree had been infested with ground termites, so I treated the log twice before it ever entered my shop. Nothing but partially desiccated dead termites left!
