Annual Stanwood Art Show |
It’s that time again, for the wonderful Small Craft Advisory Art Show in Stanwood this weekend from 9/30-10/1! Andrew will be there with new work along with a group of incredibly talented artists with all types of work, from woodworking to Native American craft, pottery to sculpture. There is no admission fee, and a very relaxed setup in The Floyd historic building meant to give everyone time and room to chat and have a good time. We will be there all weekend and love meeting and catching up with other wood enthusiasts, so stop by and say “hi!” |
Cut, Cut, Cut the Wood… |
So much wood! We source reclaimed wood from all over the place; homeowners, municipalities, tree services, our own property. It’s gorgeous to see a big burly stump rolling through the doors, and we always have our eyes out for good chunks of wood that might otherwise be chipped up or left to rot. The flip side to all this is that if we don’t keep pace with our intake, we end up drowning in wood. So, this past week we had a wood processing marathon (cue the confetti)! It was grueling, but between the chainsaws and the bandsaw we got through most of it with some great results: Alexis got to learn the brand new skill of bandsawing (if that’s a word), we gave away a bunch of free firewood to the community from the cutoffs, and we got a rack of beautiful new blanks – ta-da! |
In The Kiln |
So far we have some maple slabs and fir cookies ready to go this month, but have space for more, so let us know if you’d like to throw some pieces in! Give us a call to schedule at (425)312-3885 or email us anytime. |
Got questions about how the kiln process works? Check out our FAQs page, cost calculator or contact us with any questions – we’re happy to help! |
