| A Surprise Win |
| Andrew led a veteran woodturning class back in 2020, and as a final project collaborated with each of his students on a piece. Then the class ended and Andrew moved on to other projects – then three years later he got a call: “Congratulations! Your piece won first place in the group category in the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition. Would you like to fly out to St. Louis?” His response: “what piece?” Needless to say he and his collaborator, Seth Maier, flew out to St. Louis to accept their awards and participate in the workshops and activities for the veteran arts community. It was an honor to be recognized by this organization, and so very cool to see one of our students winning competitions. |

| Lamp Shades and Craft Fairs |
| We are still working our way through our custom orders. Andrew turned some gorgeously thin lamp shades that will be paired with a yew base for an awesome natural look. We are also prepping for the first craft fair of the season, Sorticulture! in downtown Everett, June 9th – 11th. This is our second time participating and we are looking forward to showing off some of our new products (the nested bowls and mortar & pestle amongst others) and getting outside to mingle again. |

So far we have a big load of maple, some cedar slabs and a few burls ready for the run in May. We do have a bit of room left for pieces under 7 feet long – so let us kow if you have some pieces that you’d like to add. If they are larger we can of course get you scheduled for the June run.
