Buried in Shavings |
Hi Everybody! The last two months have been flying by – mostly because of the shavings (buh-dum-cha). But in all seriousness, it has been pedal to the metal for our head woodturner, Andrew. He has been putting out some beautiful work, experimenting and perfecting, so the wholesale lines are ready to go for Urban Craft Uprising’s Handmade Gift Show – check out a sneak peak below. Once the lines go live we will also have the products available for direct purchase on our e-store! |

Almost all of the wood that Andrew is working with right now came from reclaimed oak and maple from Camano Island. They were some big-ass trees, with some great figuring and color. It’s too bad they came down, but we are so glad that we are able to make something enduring and cool out of such pretty wood. |
In the Kiln |
July is cookie month! Maple cookies, redwood, pecan, birch and walnut cookies! We also have some gorgeous redwood slabs, as well as hefty cedar and maple. Oh, and a prehistoric looking apple burl that I swear was giving me the stink eye (see below). We are likely unloading this week then gearing up for the first run of August. We have a good amount of space open so if you have some pieces to dry give us a call at (425)312-3885 or email us and we will get you scheduled in. |

Woodworking Nerds Rejoice! |
The Wood Whisperer rocks – we all know it. And he covered one of our favorite subjects on his YouTube Channel: Food Safe Finishes! We typically use Walrus Oil for our products, but we love to keep up on what else is out there – check it out: |
