Kiln News – December 2021

Happy New Year from Urban Logs!
December has been a really exciting month for us. Andrew was at Holiday by the Bay as part of Everett Makers Market and dazzled the Holiday shoppers with his wares. Going forward we will try and loop folks in BEFORE the craft fairs but this year was a little crazy so…Zamarama Gallery in downtown Everett has a wood show that opened this month that features several of Andrew’s pieces. Stop by or join the Thursday Night Art Walk and check out some of the talented wood artists from the area!
We also got a good sized load in to cook over Christmas (Tilly the shopdog helped). A mix of poplar, alder, Doug fir, pine, boxelder boards topped off with some gigantic Doug fir slabs and beams.
The forklift also died, which was sad (and physically painful) but it is fixed now – thank goodness.Other than that it has mostly been Andrew pumping out bowls and cutting boards for custom orders (and family gifts) and trying to spend some time with loved ones. Here is to another exciting year – Happy New Year Everyone!
What’s that you say about CA Glue? The Wood Whisperer does a great breakdown on the different types, how to use them and potential pitfalls – check it out here:

That’s all for now! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to get on the kiln schedule for February.
